Meeting called to order 18:00 Hrs EST
Treasurer’s report: $26.00 Chinese Auction deposit from Spring Social. Collected $75 for testing in Stockholm. Wrote check to ARRL for $75. Rec. $60 dues, 44 cents interest since June. Bought some banners for field day, purchased can of coffee to reimburse Fire Dept. , $3,361.46. Passed unanimously. Complete list filed with Secretary in briefcase.
Secretary’s report: Approval of minutes as printed on website, passed unanimously. Moved & seconded, approved unanimous.
EMCOMM: ARES met May 21, 2016. A few members attended Wings & Wheels in Houlton and attended annual EMS expo in Madawaska, set up tables, handed out materials, talked to people about Ham Radio.
FIELD DAY/Public Information Officer: Roy Woods said good turnout for field day at Madawaska Lake.
EXCOMM: Several applications received over summer break and voted to approve by Executive Committee: Josh Cheney, KC1CQB; Judy Mann, WA1JCN; Ed Franz, W7ERF.
Applications for Membership: Laurie Spooner, W1KXP. Motion to approve passed unanimously.
President’s report: Albert Hill, honorary member G4PYQ, Manchester, England died. WA1URS Denis moved to Bangor. Did not resign as Tech Advisor. James Jalbert is assistant tech director.
Introduction of Guests:
Old Business: Steve Vance spoke with Sonja at Library regarding meeting room, she said they will never be charging rent for the room. Discussed installation of 2M rig and antenna for the meeting room at the library.
New Business: Corn Roast at Ivan Shapiro’s 3PM on Labor Day. Pot luck, bring a dish, club will provide corn.
Roy Woods said we’ve been offered another weather spotter program in Caribou.
Michelle Sandelier inquired on interest in Christmas Party for this December. Café Sopresso. Will send info to club members regarding who will submit. C.S. is the best alternative at this point thus far.
Sonny: It was suggested a CW class be held on 2M. ARRL still has CW trials on HF, also computer software available to learn. Ivan suggested someone willing to teach CW, who knows it well, could organize a class at library. Anyone interested contact Ivan and he’ll put the word out.
Roy asked if club wanted to continue streaming meeting online. Ivan says will make announcement for next meeting.
Scotty WA1YNZ moved out of the area and left some photo scrapbooks of the club from past events.

AARA meeting:
The October meeting will be on the 6th. at 6:00PM at the PI Library. The program will be presented by Sam Barrett, W5KF and will cover using CW; why, here’s how, let’s do it!
Should be instructive and extremely helpful.
Sam’s program will include the virtues of using CW.

Harvest Supper:
The AARA Harvest Supper will be held on October 15th. this year.
Please put it on your calendar and plan on being there. It will be held at the Dunntown Church in Wade. If you need directions, email me.
We will meet by 6:00PM and hopefully eat around 6:30.
It will be a pot luck dinner.
Don’t forget your place settings and something to drink if you want something other than coffee.
We will also have a Chinese auction so gather up your unused items, magazines, VHS & DVD’s, etc and donate them to the cause.
Amateur Radio License Exam Testing:
Amateur radio licensing examinations will be offered in Presque Isle on Tuesday, October 18th at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library, 39 2nd St and will start at 6:00 PM. Walk-ins will be accepted. Examinees must have 2 forms of positive identification and their Social Security number. Licensed amateurs trying to upgrade must have in their possession the original license and a clear photocopy of it. Contact the team VE leader (Steve N1NXU 227-2473) in advance if special exam facilities are required or proposed. The cost is $15.00 (exact cash please).
