EMCOMM

Roy Woods reported no meeting in December for the team.  Our next meeting will be January 16, 2021 on Zoom.

We continue to do radio testing at the NWS and hospitals and County EMA.  We are always looking for new ARES Team members.  Just call Roy @ 492-7532.

Public Relations:  Seth reported he was working with Roy to list future Ham Radio testing dates and  he will be working on publishing club events in the new year. All members need to help by giving Seth information and ideas such as ham radio events, member special event, meeting reminders for interested public looking to get into ham radio and hamfests and news articles like new equipment someone just got.  Call Seth at 435-6528.

President’s Report:

1.  James stated that meeting presentations would start up again when we can

meet in person again.  We are always looking for more presentations for our meetings.

2.  James read a note from Dave Deschesne and read his response on behalf of  Club members.  The members agreed totally with the President’s answer.

3.  It was noted that we continue to have our Monday Night Net @8pm, A Weather Net and Swap & Sell Net on the third Tuesday each month.

Old Business:

1.  Roy & Steve answered comments about the repeater move.  It was noted that  with the recent power outage, our system continued to work and was used by many of the members and County EMA.  We had a discussion on adding  repeater links to our system.  A vote was taken and approved to look into methods and costs of adding repeater links in the near future and to expand our coverage area to all of Central Aroostook.

2.  Field Day –  Jim Cerrato reported that he would pick a committee to help him with Field Day and a location on June 26 & 27th, 2021.

Discussion on location and insurance issues were heard.  Jim will continue to work on this event and report back to the club at the February meeting.

New Business:

1.  Roy Woods recommended the club get a list of new ham members and work together to get them into the club and its activities.  Roy will work on this idea and would welcome any help.

2.  Seth Thomas suggested we develop a brochure for the club to be able to pass out and advertise our club to the public.

3.  Roy Woods suggested we come up with new ideas for our annual events. Things like Summer Picnic, Fall supper and etc..  The old events have lost interests and had very small turnout of members.  This idea was accepted and tabled until the February meeting for members to come up with new ideas.

All members come up with new ideas for the February meeting.

4.  Steve Sandelier had a new idea for the annual dues but signed off so we tabled the discussion until the February meeting

Meeting was adjourned at 2000.

Respectfully Submitted:

Roy Woods KB1WGN
