Treasurer’s Report:  Month of Sept.  Dep. 68.00 from dues and 50/50.  Paid for flowers $59.00;  interest 35 cents;  $4,206.35. Roy Moved to approve, Tammy Second, passed unanimous

Secretary’s Report: Motion to accept by Sonny. Second Jim Cerrato, passed unanimous

EMCOM:  Last ARES meeting Sept 21 at Madawaska lake.  Meeting and training on putting up 100′ portable tower.  Showed the need to do that on an annual basis, at least.  14 attending.  Got new Ham operator, George Hurteau, KC1KUP in Houlton as member of ARES team.  Will be testing radio at Houlton hospital on monthly basis.  Met with hospital administration they will be putting up new radio and antenna.  All five hospitals will be testing on a monthly basis.  Try to connect all five.  Next meeting Oct 19 at County EOC.

Field Day: Been discussion on location of Field Day. Park area in Houlton or PI Fairgrounds or back at Cerrato Family Ranch.  A lot of satisfaction for those at CFR this past year.  Jim will pursue next year having half day with activities and lots of good food, like this year.  Would like to do Family shooting activity in May.  Not going to shoot each other, just target shooting.  Prizes and BBQ at CFR.

Public Information Officer:  Nothing to report

Safety Officer:  No issues, nothing to report

Repeater interference:  Dave Berry reports not hearing much interference lately.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

            – Always need topics for future meetings

            – Monday night nets, Jim and James to come up with schedule let them know if you want to be net control

            – I did get email from Darius Haskell, Laurel group looking to do amateur radio testing for those interested.  Couple weeks away. Date: Wed Oct 16, 2019 – 5-7pm Caribou Public Library.

Old Business:

Club’s repeater. Roy got permission from Feds to move repeater to National Weather Service site.  They’ll help run cable to tower.  Permission came through that the ARES team repeater could be installed there.  Technically, this is not ARES.  They would not do it for club.  The only reason they’re letting us do it is it’s ARES.  AARA owns repeater.  Roy’s question: would club be willing to share ownership with ARES on the repeater. ARES is separate from club. Steve asked:  Will weather service be okay with club members other than ARES using repeater.  Roy said he brought this up with NWS and they don’t have an issue.

Ivan moved to lease repeater to ARES for $1.00 per 99 year. Second by Roy.  15 for, 3 against, (then 2 non-voting members present, but not participating in vote).

-Connection to Fort Kent Repeater.  Can figure this out after repeater moves to NWS site.  James and Derrick from FT Kent with officers from both clubs, talk about joint club operations, linking repeaters.  Will work on details of joint venture between both clubs.  Then present proposal to respective club members.  Not a merger of the two clubs, more like a co-op.

– Signs to promote club.  Jim: Have one large sign.  Caribou Year book offered free placement for first time.

New Business:

Michael Lagasse – Have application, received money, waiting for call, will be associate member.  Moved Roy, second Tammy Passed unanimous.
