Introduction of members.  No guests.

Treasurer’s Report:  Interest 30 cents, deposited $80 in received dues.  Total: $3852.19

Secretary’s Report: Tammy moved to accept minutes Jim seconded.

EMCOM:  Had meeting last month.  Poor turnout.  Lot of things going on that day.  Everything’s going good.  Next meeting is in Houlton next week at State Police Barracks.

Field Day:  Jim:  Sat 22 June, 2019.  Still on schedule at Cerrato Family Ranch.  Inviting operators, spouses and children.  Not going to run 24 hour unless operators choose to.  Barbecue and picnic.  Jim had complaint.  Monday night net only two operators on, along with net control total three people.  Need to have more people participating in that net.

AARA meeting:

The April meeting of AROOSTOOK AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION will be held on Thursday,  April 4th at 6:30 PM EST at the Presque Isle, Maine, Library, located at Second and State Streets , Presque Isle.

The April meeting program will be given by Bryan, K1BQY,  and will consist of an explanation of  the Echo Link program and how to get started using it.

DUES were due at March meeting. If you haven’t paid yet please come and pay the dues (costs only $20 per family). Can’t attend? Send to treasurer either by postal or PAYPAL.  Need PayPal address? Contact treasurer, and don’t use credit card because PP deducts $.  Send to “friends and family”. PP says it’s OK to do this.

I know Darren thanked everyone for helping with the EOC Drill but I want to say thank you also.  This was training to be ready for a major flood event in Aroostook County.  The only problem we had was getting Winlink to work.

I know everyone is busy now days with many things going but I am so proud of the Aroostook County ARES Team for being willing to help with special events like this and for major events we hope will never happen, I have a hard time to put it into words.  We had an observer from Maine EMA in Augusta and he was extremely impressed.  He remarked he had never seen a County come together like that for just a drill!

The same as any other club or team, we have members and we have special members who will even take vacation time to help!  I was very impressed with the call out we made to all members and had 13 out of 20 who were able to help in a actual emergency event.  I’m also sure the other 7 members would have been able to help at other times.

Thank You for Caring,
Roy Woods, KB1WGN

Spring Social:

The AARA Spring Social will be held on Saturday May 11th this year.   Please put it on your calendar and plan on being there.  It will be held at the Dunntown Church in Wade.  If you need directions, email N1NXU.

We will meet by 6:00 PM and hopefully eat around 6:30.  It will be a pot luck dinner.   So bring a covered dish to pass.

Don’t forget your place settings and something to drink if you want something other than coffee.

We will also have a Chinese auction so gather up your unused items, magazines, VHS & DVD’s,  electronics, or other items etc and donate them to the cause.

We hope to see you there.
