Introduction of members.  No guests.

Treasurer’s Report:  35 cents interest this month.  Total $4,196.22  Insurance bill due this month.  $425.00  Motion to approve Bill G, Second by Steve Vance.  Motion passed unanimous

Secretary’s Report: Tammy motion to approve minutes Lane second.  Motion passed unanimous.

–  Roy.  ARES met Nov 17.  Good turnout.  Speaker from Houlton barracks re communications on their new, portable repeater Ham and SP frequencies.  Roy attended webinar for ARES on new ARES counting system.  Next meeting, January 19 at County EOC.  Open to any Ham operator who has interest in being on ARES team.  Still doing all radio checks at the hospitals, EOC.  Had nice meeting at TAMC.  They are moving radio and the one in Mars Hill.  TAMC will provide ID badges to ARES members to go in and check radios.  Always looking for new members.

– Roy & Steve S. visited TAMC to talk with new communication officer.  Talked about moving radio closer to main control area.  Old antenna sitting in room where radio is, Steve brought it home to check out.    If it checks out, it can be used at Mars Hill nursing home.  Radios are on EMA and club repeater frequency.  Radios are turned off when not in use.  ARES has designated operators who will staff those radios when needed.

Field Day:  Have conflict with date for Fairgrounds.  That building will be unavailable.  A suggestion was made that Field Day be held at Cerrato Family Ranch.  Generator and picnic, but not stay overnight.

Public Information Officer:  Jim:  Christmas Party on Dec. 15 at Cerrato Family Ranch 6:30pm.  No tickets or fee, but bring a plate.  Bon Fire / Fireworks around 7:30 or 8:00 pm.  Bring your own lawn chair, etc.

Officer Recruitment:  Sam not available.  Ivan communicated with Sam re volunteers.  Nominations March, election in April.  Anybody who would be interested in an officer position, email Sam or Ivan.  What we want is people who are interested, or expressed an interest ahead of time, to speak with the people who hold offices now in case that person doesn’t want to be nominated again – such as Ivan, who does not want to be nominated for President again – to learn more about the specific job.

Asking for people who will be willing to present a program at the meetings.  Can be on any subject, however radio takes priority.

– Elmering program still available.  Listed on website under educational link.

– Put your radio model into YouTube and you’ll be amazed at learning videos that come up.

New Business:

Roy suggested if any expenses for Jim at Christmas party, club should reimburse.  Jim not aware of any expenses.

– Need to consider reimbursing those families who have invested in Christmas party decorations.  They will think about it and revisit under Old Business.

Old Business:

Need a safety officer.  Ivan was going to publicize, but Tammy D has volunteered to be safety officer.  Would like to entertain nominations.  Roy moved Tammy be SO, Jim second.  Motion passed unanimously.  Roy said there is S.O. program at County EOC.

Meeting Adjourned:  18:44

Presentation by Tammy KB1IGV:  Relevance of Ham radio in a Changing World.

Respectfully submitted,

David Deschesne, KB1EBG, AARA Secretary
