Call to Order:  18:00

 

Treasurer’s Report: End Nov 17 cents interest.  Paid liability ins 425.00 end of Dec. 16 cents interest.  $3650.14

 

Secretary’s Report:  Approval of minutes moved Sonny second Tammy motion carried unanimously.

 

Field Day:  Nothing to report

 

Public Info Officer: not present.

 

EMCOM – Roy:  ARES team been busy.  Spent a couple nights at Caribou weather center.  Currently have nine people taking CERT training.  Relay points have been set up as alternates to repeater.  Continue to check radios at hospital, EOC and weather bureau.  Roy turned in log, only one in the state doing it. Next meeting Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at PI Library, anybody welcome to attend whether a member or not.

 

EXECCOMM – New application Tim Lyford KC1IHH.  Excom approved application

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

-Annual Christmas Party Dec 7 at Caribou Inn & Conv. Terrific party thanks to Michelle and Joan for excellent work, decorations, etc.  Food excellent.

– Education:  We all need to learn more.  Some previous programs presented at meetings are on club website K1FS.org under educational tab.  Some are pdf.

– Eight Elmers covering many aspects of Ham radio.  All listed on club website.

-YouTube also has many informational videos on Ham radio

– February meeting will be nominations for officers, March will be the vote.

 

Special Guest:  Sabrina Adams, friend of Roy Woods in attendance

 

Old Business: – Talked about changing club application to have section for affiliate members who will be non-voting members for members from EMA, EOC, Weather center.  Ham call would be required, but no dues assessed.  President Shapiro will look at bylaws for club to see what’s required to change membership application.

 

New Business:  – none –

I am still seeking programs from membership.

It is not too late to present at this meeting, but not to worry.

 

Sam Barrett W5KF, chair of nominating committee, will present their slate for March election of officers.

Any voting member, wishing to hold office can  be nominated and run for office at the March meeting.

 

Ivan hopes to have something regarding FIELD DAY.  It’s never too early to plan ahead.

As usual refreshments will be served. And the public is, of course, invited.

Bill passed his general license exam.
